bugged by switching to latch

have discovered the joys of preview for snap shotting a scene roughly - doing a dialog premix for a foreign language version. ( have to thank Mike for his very useful tutorial )

technique= turn off the N for iNsertion follows playback. create range. hit preview on the automation window. tweak until rough EQ/ verb sends are in ball park. capture and manual write.. read the warning ( that N key is close to nudge keys eh? )

but am struggling - becos I am finding using preview or not. my automation is switching to latch mode.

have tried the prefs - after pass switch to touch or unchanged.

any advice? is this a known thing? signature has my set up in it

That is unfortunately specifically only for pass with the automation mode set to "write".

ah thanks! thats a fiddly pref.

anyways luckily I have artist control and mix

if I assign soft key to turn on preview and capture - then manual write.

then the problem goes away - its also faster... so win win - I just find programming the Eucon stuff so slow... and hard to rejig..

seems its only if I use the command num pad 4 automation that the issue bites.
