Default Mbox in Use Dialog

I'm running OSX 10.2 and Pro-Tools 6.2. Starting up pro-tools I get a dialog saying Mbox in use and it tells me to quit all applications. I quit all of my audio apps and it still doesn't come on. The only solution is to re-start my comp and go straight to pro-tools to open it.

anyone know how to change this so I can "plug-and-play"? I'm not sure if this is a core-audio problem but please send me your input.

try going to digi coreaudio setup and removing all apps from the supported list that you do not absolutely need. Also try setting Built-in audio as the default in and out in Sound Preference pane. Hope this helps.

Are you running JUST 10.2? or is it 10.2.something? If it's 10.2, then you need to update to at least 10.2.3, preferrably 10.2.8.

The other thing is that you say you're running Pro Tools 6.2. There is no version 6.2 and, more importantly, the latest version for any 10.2.x version of Mac OS X is Pro Tools 6.1.2.

Please check your OS version and Pro Tools version, make sure they're compatible and then report back.

Sorry.

OS X 10.2.8

Pro-Tools 6.1.2

This problem is really annoying because I DJ a lot live and I've gotten together enough of my own material to perform via my Tibook but say my screen or energy saver comes on and bam, I've got to re-start my whole machine to get things running again.

I have an mBox too; I don't have any problems with screensaver but energy saver is not supported.
