ATTENTION!!!!

Just a quick word on PT 7.3 update and the error(I think the "Azuki" error) you get when you run the program. I would get the error, then close the error, and protools would run just fine. It turned out that the error was due to the network adapter on the motherboard was turned off. For some reason, protools looks for the adapter when you execute the program. I turned on the adapter in the bios, loaded the drivers, and never looked back. That was 4 days after the update was available to the public. I haven't read if this issue was addressed. Hope this helps.

Yep. The issue, and the solution, were discussed extensively when 7.3 came out, and has been fixed in 7.3.1.

The errors fixed in 7.3.1 makes me wonder - did they test 7.3 at all before releasing it ?

Cheers,

So I lucked out. I have sat on my desk 2 x 2.4Ghz, 1066 FSB Clovertowns. They're atually pre production samples, hence the slower bus speed, they also don't support low power mode, but hell I am allowed to play with them.

So, anyone ogt any recommendations for what to build around them? I have a totally clean slate, and a few idea, but wanted to check if anyone had any "Fact based" Opinions on how best to start working on this Octazilla.

You guys all seem to really like the True Image product. I went to their webpage and saw that there are five different versions. I'm sure that, for example, the one for Linux is not the one I need, but which version do you guys use? Home? Workstation? Does it matter?

Thanks!

I could use a little help here. Here are the specs of the sytem I built:

2) AMD Opteron 2212(WOF) Santa Rosa 2.0GHz
2) ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler
TYAN S2927A2NRF Dual Socket 1207
4) Kingston Value 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM ECC Registered DDR2 400
ASUS EN7300GT SILENT/HTD/256M GeForce 7300GT 256MB
Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFD 150GB 10,000 RPM 16MB (system)
2)Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS (1 audio/1 backup)
ZALMAN ZM600-HP ATX12V 600W Power Supply

The most I can squeeze out of this system is 102 in the Dverb test @ 95%, 4 CPU's, 1024, 32 @ 24 bit running the Mbox1. Does anyone know why it's so low? I've read through this thread and tried all suggestions but I'm at a brick wall. I'm seeing some dual core systems getting better results than this. I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.
Thanks, Rick

Default UAD-1 is working!

I did not expect it at all but my UAD-1 works with my new "half quad" based on a 2927 TYAN! I did a fast dverb test just for kicks even though I've got 1 cpu and 2 gigs of ram and got 68. I'm kind of holding out for the quad chip or maybe I'll just get another 2212. not sure yet. I'm happy though!

specs:
PSU OCZ | OCZ520ADJSLI 520W RT
(1)CPU AMD|OPT 2212 2.0G 1207 2x1M 90R
(2)HD 74G|WD 10K 16M SATA WD740ADFD
CPU COOLER ZALMAN|CNPS 9500 AM2 RTL
SERVER_MB TYAN|S2927A2NRF R
(2)MEM 1G|KST DII667 KVR667D2D8P5/1G R
VGA ASUS N EN7600GS SILENT/HTD/256M
ANTEC P180B case

Hi Matt,
I installed the drivers that came on the CD for the motherboard. The only newer ones at Tyan's website are for the RAID which I am not using. I went to NVidia's website and downloaded the latest available driver there. I've tweaked the bios in many ways with no beneficial results.
Any other ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks, Rick
