Default Carbon with anything other than 10.15.7?

Was there a technical reason I missed in the documentation for Carbon only working with 10.15.7, or is that the only tested, supported version and other, more mature macOS versions will probably also work (like 10.13, or even Mojave)?

AVB has been supported for years and 10.13 is all that's required for PT 2020.11.

Hey Matt,

A number of AVB updates came in Catalina such as support for 44.1/88.2/176.4 kHz as well as other important fixes. Carbon will not work well in Mojave because it doesn’t have those updates. And, we support 10.15.7 because it’s the latest Catalina version available.

Thanks, Kyle. That's good info. Would you please share the RTL numbers at 44 and 96? HDX with HD I/0 is 1.9ms at 44.1 and 0.5 at 96kHz. I'm assuming Carbon's in the same ballpark, but so far nothing has been mentioned about samplerate with regard to latency — even in the reviews. With 24 I/O only available at 44/48 and AAX DSP adding a bit of latency I think that info is the only missing piece of the puzzle.

Hi Matt,

AD > DA latencies are sub-1 ms at ALL sample rates for tracks in DSP Mode. And, the higher the sample rate the lower the latency as you'd expect. Latency figures are lower with Carbon than HDX systems. I'll look into getting exact numbers together to share.

User posts on GS are listing it at 0.75ms RTL at 48kHz, and 0.4ms RTL at 96kHz.

Extremely low latency. How closely do those numbers match yours, Kyle?

Hey Matt,

Sounds very close. But, I want to get the exact figures before I confirm anything. And, I'll share that info as soon as I have it. Thanks for your patience.
