Default What\'s your favorite stereo buss compressor plugin

I've been using Digi's Impact with great results. I was wondering what other users have on the Master insert?

What's your favorite stereo buss compressor plug-ins?

The waves stuff is some of the best out there. I haven't had the pleasure of working on a SSL console, but I have been really diggin' the Impact plug. SSL or not, it sounds smokin'.

Impact is Great ! , some don't like it. I have worked on a SSL before but that was a long time ago, I think you should take any plug-in and listen to what it sounds like on your mix instead of comparing it to a hardware piece, The URS eqs are not exact replicas of Neve and API but they sound great, that's all that matters to me. I think Impact got a bad wrap in the beginning because of the "attack bug" I think it was. Give it another objective listen, I think you'll like it.

Often I begin with "Program Leveler" and open it up to taste.

Impact & Waves LMB compressor. All the time for me. But I always use and external Comp as well. A lot of times I have at least 3 comps and one limiter on the 2 Buss as each thing gives me something I am looking for.

It has to be the Waves L2, L3

If I want real compression rather than limiting, it's the Oxford Dynamics

i use the L3 and sometimes a 6 band waves eq
i'm eqing less and less these days

pretty heavy handed on that L3 too.

i turn in my unmastered mixes to the mastering guy so he can be unencumbered from my limiting

but he has a copy of my L3 mixes so he can see my "vision"

he even recently got an L3 so he can deal with me better and it appears to be working

it has taken a few CDs for both of us to get used to working this way

but i don't like the surprises without hearing what limiting is gonna bring to the party and this rapport with him has been working

i'm using brad blackwood at euphonic masters by the way and i am very satisfied with his attentiveness.

perhaps brad is actually my favorite 2 bus plug in ha ha
