Default kernel panic when quitting protools

I am having frequent problems with kernel panic (gray multilingual screen of death) when I quit protools. I recently had hardware problems fixed on my powerbook, and I erased the harddrive and re-installed everything. It has been since this that the kernel panic problem started. ProTools works OK otherwise, but the kernel panic thing is getting really old. Has anyone else had problems like this? Any suggestions?

Thanks

powerbook g4 1.67 GHz, 1.5 GB ram
OS x 10.4.6
ProTools LE 6.9.2
MBox

Bad RAM?

Looks like a job for Memtest.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Will this catch problems that the apple hardware test won't?

I have already sent the powerbook back to Apple twice, and I think they replaced both motherboard and memory each time. I do not relish the prospect of going through that a third time.

Yes it will. It's the most thorough test there is short of a hardware RAM tester which are big $$$$.
