Default Rename files on Windows difficulty.

Hey-

I am a lifetime Mac user on Pro Tools 2019.12 that is now working from a Windows 10 System at home while sequestered.

All is fine, but I am having a odd issue when renaming printed files.

My template has all bounce tracks named with the information I want as the suffix of the file "_StereoMix, _StereoM&E etc, etc, etc"

Once I print the mixes I double click the clip to rename, move the curser to the beginning of the existing name that was created when recording the clip and paste in the rest of the file name to end up with something like "30_SpotName-V1_StereoMix".

In the Windows version of Pro Tools when I do this the clipboard is pasted at the END of the existing name rather than where the curser is positioned at the beginning of the name.

Is this common behavior with the Windows version.

Thanks,
Rich

I'm still not clear on what you're doing and what's happening. In hopes it might help, I would double-click the clip and when the name box appears, just hit Backspace to delete the entire name and type in what you want. Maybe not elegant, but might get you thru your time on the Windows setup

That would be fine if it was a 5-10 character suffix, but most are 30-40 characters which is why I do it this way.

Thanks for your time.

I have noticed that clicking at the beginning doesn't necessarily mean the cursor stays at the beginning, but moves elsewhere, and yes, sometimes the end. Try clicking at the beginning, then hit "Home" on the keyboard and see if the cursor is actually at the beginning of the file name.
