Default Avid Link hogging CPU

I have a 2019 MacBook Pro, and every now and then, the fans rev up. When I check Activity Monitor for CPU usage, there it is, Avid Link trying to calculate the mass of Jupiter’s moons. What is up with this app hogging so much power?

You can delete it. Or set it to NOT start up automatically(while I can do this on Windows, I don't know how its done on a Mac)

It's an awfully implemented package of code. Stunning incompetently packaged, along with Cloud Collaboration, significant security concerns as shipped. I would not leave any of these components installed on any system.

+1. The first thing I do is to delete or disable them. For me they really mess with PT's efficiency.

Right, but the security concern is separate from performance. I would not let this junk into larger studios/media owner networks especially. And even with it removed there re still issues with core Pro Tools, that are probably less severe but I'd be doing things like resetting plugin permission with Pro Tools plugins to address those. So many things here are screaming out for hackers to attack. I've posted details, about this stuff before on DUC.

Thanks for your replies. I’ll delete Avid Link right away, it’s more annoying than useful, to be honest.
This, added to the fact that the new 2020.3 update didn’t fix very importan issues, sets me a little closer to not renewing my update plan.
