Default Restoring Rubber Knobs

Don't know if this is the best place for this thread, but here goes.

The soft rubber knobs on my Octa-Capture are getting sticky. It's not an issue of them being dirty as it is simply age.

I seem to remember back in the tape days that there was a method for restoring pinch rollers, but I think that might have been to deal with rollers that had gotten brittle. This is the opposite problem - they're getting soft and tacky.

Any thoughts?

Here's a couple of ideas:
1-replace all the knobs with plastic or metal(lots of styles on eBay).
2-look thru the DUC thread on Pro Control and Control 24 as I remember some conversation there about cleaning the rubberized armrest that may help
3-see if Roland has a support community as you may not be the only person with this problem

Dave ---

Thanks. Good suggestions all. Finding replacement knobs is probably the way I will have to go.

I was hoping for a more generic solution. I have other devices that need similar help (including my toaster oven ) so I was looking to solve the problem with a single fix.

Oh well, I haven't given up quite yet. I will post if I find out anything new...
