It's a bit frustrating
Do you have the latest software installed on the server. Latest client?
Also: Have you checked that reverse lookup is working? what have you set for host name? Does is resolve to the IP of the server? (see my other posting). Are these always the same addresses that don´t work or are they random?

Yes, I have the latest versions installed.

The reverse lookup seems to be working.

I have let the server choose the hostname by leaving that field empty.

It seems to be the same adresses everytime.
@hotmail, @g-mail and @edu is the e-mail adresses I had problems with.

hotmail is kind of "famous" for pretty "militant" spam-blocking. I´ve seen hotmail not working but the notification have always bounced back to me.

BTW: leaving the hostname empty will only fill in "localhost" plus your IP as the sender´s ID. Which means that a reverse lookup of that host will fail and some recipient´s email server will declare that as spam and simply ignore it or bounce it back as spam.

read the posting above (from Tom Jimmy) regarding reverse dns lookup and make sure you enter a host-name that resolves to the server´s IP.
