Default Windwos 10 Eucontrol Autostart not working

Hi all,

I run the latest Avid Artist Series Software on my Win 10 Pro system.
Unfortunately the Autostart option does not work. I can see Eucontrol in the autostart list (in task manager) and it is activated. Still it does NOT start automatically upon windows boot.

Any ideas?

Thx, Ernst

I'm on Windows and it works OK. Maybe you have it in another Startup location for earlier ?
Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.
Type the following command to open the Startup folder and press Enter:
shell:startup
Click OK.

It shouldn't be in there

Hi you,

Eucontrol IS in the startup folder (which contains a lot of items in my case - maybe this is to blame?) - and I managed (using 3rd Party Software) to make it start now (by delaying the its start a little). What is annoying still is that it requests authorization now (the usual Win 10 confirmation because of UAC). Are there ways to avoid that without deactivating UAC?)

THx, Ernst

Please remove it from that startup folder. its an old location. Then use the EuControl option on the taskbar to enable it to auto start. Are you an admin user or standard ?

Hi you,

I removed it from the Autostart folder. And I checked the relevant Item in the Eucontrol menu.I have administrator privileges.

Eucontrol now does not start automatically.

When I manually start it again the checkmark next to "Eucontrol" (Start automatically / the menu item) is DISAPPEARED.

Can it be that something is wrong with the rights to access locations on the system drive? My user has admin rights and appears to have full access...

Hm.....

If you open Task Manager and look at the startup tab you should see it there. You may need to switch tabs to refresh. See if checking and unchecking it in EuControl adds and removes it
