Default Upgrading my computer - suggestions

Hi everyone!

I'm in the process of upgrading my computer in the following days and would like some advice. Here is the proposed list of components:

1. GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD3 LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
2. Intel Core i7-3820 Sandy Bridge-E 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 2011 130W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80619i73820
3. CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMX8GX3M4A1600C9

(aprox $600)

I will reuse the case I currently own, together with the cooler (COOLER MASTER Hyper N 520 RR-920-N520-GP 92mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Intel Core i7 compatible), hard drives (WD Caviar Blacks), FW card (SIIG) and video card (old Nvidia)

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Looks fine, but I have questions. Are you going to run either HD or the CPTK2? If yes to either, I would double the RAM to 16GB(4x4) so you can take advantage of the RAM cache feature. What power supply do you have(is it beefy enough with plenty of current available for the +12V rail(s)?

okay...truth be told, I would double the RAM anyway, but that's just because I LIKE having more!

Thanks for your response!

How much power should I be looking at?

I agree on the RAM thing, I'll look into that, although I donot use HD or CPTK2.

For PSU, if it has a single 12V rail, look for over 50A. If it has multiple 12V rails, go for 20A per rail(my i7 950 can pull 18A at full tilt).
