Re: Backup and archive hardware and regimes
By the way - nothing to do with anything but I just cloned my boot drive to a 7200 rpm spinner and decided to try booting from it and launching Pro Tools.
How did we ever manage before SSD? I'm still waiting for it to launch!

So it's all good until it isn't. And G-Tech has traded hands (so the internal drives have also have changed depending on ownership.)

Re: Backup and archive hardware and regimes
I've done some "housekeeping" on the studio's archives and liberated a pair of 6TB G-Drives. I'm going to partition each into 2, then put the computer backup and one copy of the archive on one, the audio drive backup and the other copy of the archive on the other.
I'd prefer to have four separate drives but this'll do for now, and means I can retire the whole spider's web of old hard drives humming away in my mix room at the moment.
