Revibe II impacts CPU spikes in PT 11HD
One more bug.
Now related to Revibe II v 11.0.1 (latest) in PT HD 11.0.2 I have it in a very simple 16 tracks Dialog session. There is a single instance of the ReVibe mono. A total system usage less than 3%. The Revibe has some small room preset, tweaked a little bit. Suddenly it causes pro tools to stop and showing error messages like "...clock conflict. Remove some native plugins" or Video Engine errors . Spikes are like 80-90% on a cores meter #8 (of 16), and it goes to the 100% on the total meter in the system usage. Same session in PT HD10 works like a charm. Well, it looks like with PT HD11 I paid $600 for the "beta testing". Are beta testers work with the video and use some basic plugins at all? Really its so basic and I just can't work with it.

Re: Revibe II impacts CPU spikes in PT 11HD
Michael,
Which of your two listed systems are you seeing this on? What are your playback engine settings? (Dynamic Host Processing etc.) Does this happen if you use Desktop Video instead of BM video? You say this is happening in 11 in the title but then state 10.0.2 in the post body, I'm sure this was typo but please confirm. Revibe mono is on an auxiliary or a channel? You've been around here for a long time, you know the drill. Help us help you etc. FWIW, I don't use an external video card and am able to run much larger sessions than you describe with all media on an AFP server including video and multiple instances of revibe on multichannel auxiliaries without issue or error. Thanks for your detailed response. C |

Re: Revibe II impacts CPU spikes in PT 11HD
Hi Ceri
My Dynamic Host Processing is "on" Buffer size 256 The Desktop Video doesn't have any effect. Yeah..11.0.2 it's a typo. Fixed. Revibe II on a mono Auxillary. Yes, usually I run 200 + tracks in PT HD10 without problem on my HDn HD10

Re: Revibe II impacts CPU spikes in PT 11HD
Solved.
I noticed that it only happens when I tweak a Pre-Delay in early reflection section to the negative value. I had it set on -130.5 ms. When the pot is on 0 or positive value, everything turns to normal. It's certainly a bug in Pro Tools 11 as there is no problem with the same setting in Pro Tools 10. Anyone can confirm this? You can watch it here:100% reproducible.

Re: Revibe II impacts CPU spikes in PT 11HD
Created a very simple session. 1 mono audio track with pops ten seconds apart, sending to a single mono aux track with Small Bright Room 1 revibe II mono - mono with a -130.5ms (all other settings as preset) adjustment.
I see the spikes that you are seeing in 11 but no error message is generated. The Peak appears to come approximately 3 seconds before the start of the first region being sent to the auxiliary. Does that seem about right to you? C PS/ just watched your video will try that here. Last edited by C; 09-23-2013 at 09:22 AM. |

Again, I see the spike on the meter but without the error message.

Re: Revibe II impacts CPU spikes in PT 11HD
So I have even more powerful machine with yet more RAM.
The only difference is that I am on 10.8.4 (because of the PT HD10) and the Avid HDn PCIe card... So maybe 10.8.5 what makes the difference Update: Upgraded to 10.8.5. Same behaviour.
