Re: The best amp modeling plugin?
I just got the line 6 helix native plug-in today. It has a lot of options but the interface isn’t nearly user-friendly as amplitude 5. I think amplitude is going to be my go-to plugin.

Have Amplitube 3 and 4 and the only good stuff is the Fender Collection 1. Guitar Rig is okay but not great. |

Positive Grid Bias is good.
But for me, I still think Eleven II is fantastic. But nowadays I'm often reach for my Axe-FX FM3. |

Re: The best amp modeling plugin?
For rock and metal, STL Tones is the best I have heard. The Rectifier and Diezel Herbert packs are monsters. They have a lot of different options and is very much geared towards the modern metal sounds, though have a lot of other options and many amp captures from "big" producers.

Re: The best amp modeling plugin?
What about for more clean tone stuff like rhythm guitar or palm muted stuff?

Re: The best amp modeling plugin?
ML5's (from ML Sound Lab) "Fat" setting is where I've been going lately for clean tones. It's the best I've heard from digital, with amazing dynamics, like a hi-fi amp (Schroeder DB 7/9, etc). It also takes well to pedals.

Re: The best amp modeling plugin?
I like the new version of Guitar Rig. To me it sounds way better than the very old previous version.
Lots of the sims can get you close with crunch. It's the clean and light breakup sounds that I have trouble getting with them. I bought Ox when it came out. Problem solved.

Re: The best amp modeling plugin?
Not as flashy, does not have a looks like real life graphics as the others mentioned here but - sounds and feels most like a real amp to me - https://www.scuffhamamps.com/
Its the best amp sim at slightly overdriven sounds and reacts so well to you as a player. Roll your volume back and check out most amp sims, sounds/feels nothing like when you do that on a real amp, scuffham reacts like an amp. Don't expect updates every year. This is a workhorse, not a show horse. |

Wish they said what their amps are supposed to emulate. |
