I think this thread nails why i sold my 001 and bought Cubase SX for my home studio. RTAS support for PC is lame. With VST and DX you can get 99 of all native plugs and soft synths.

BTW I am not anti PT at all, I use it nearly everyday in the studio i work for and love it. BUT considering that in the navite DAW world i would think there are more PC's than MACs anyway, so it makes litlle sense that digidesign would favor MAC's in native land. It was mentioned in another thread that Digidesign is going to impose on 3rd party developers that they must develop for PC if they're going to develop for Mac, a kind of all or nothing policy.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Hello. Where was this? Who was quoted? Was it a Digidesign employee? Was it wishful thinking on someone's part? I won't comment on the actual meat and potatoes of that claim, because it is preposterous in my opinion.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Sometimes it seems to me that Digidesign is less One company and more different departments of one company acting without tomuch insight in what the others do - Mac development, PC development AND first and formost the PR department seems to be leaving separate lives...

On the other hand is Pro Tools still the best system for Audioproduction that I´ve heard sofar!

I searched high and low for that thread, and I believe I found it, but it doesn't exist anymore.

It was a thread where someone had attended a Digidesign seminar of some kind, and it was a comment one of the sales reps made.

The fact that the thread comes back as "You have requested a topic that does not exist!", tells me that maybe the sales rep overstepped his authority.
