Default Pro Tools LE 8 with 2009 iMac?

My old mac just crashed and I'm looking at getting a used iMac. I have PTLE 8 and found an iMac with snow leopard on it and plenty of RAM. Problem is, it only has one firewire port. I assume I need 2 ports, 1 for the 002 and 1 for my hard drive. Is this correct?

If the used iMac won't work, will a newer iMac work? I noticed those come with one fire wire port but also have those thunder ports (or whatever they're called).

you can daisy chain the 002 and the harddrive on the one firewire port.

Connect the drive first to the computer and then out of the drive to the 002 or 003.

Thanks! Does that give any noticeable performance degradation?

Also, would you do the same on the newer iMacs and mac book pros? Or are people using the new thunder ports?

no performance issues. it is what Pro tools recommends if you have only one firewire out.
