Default PT8 CS10 legacy controller

I'm trying to use an Oxygen 8v2 to control Pro Tools 8. I can get simple transport controls to work using factory Preset 9 and enabling slave remote, but I cannot get further controls under MIDI.

I downloaded the Oxygen presets from the m-audio forum that are advertised to work under CS10 legacy controller.

I've downloaded and installed the (PT8 updated) legacy CS10 controller, but when I go to select that in PT8 (Setup | Peripherals | Midi) the send to and receive from options are greyed out.

Thanks

Trevor

Nothing to see here folks.

Apparently this is a bug in the CS10 controller software that has been reported to Digidesign..

And, unfortunately, it does not look like there will be any further support for either the CS-10 or PC-1600 controller profiles. I got confirmation from program management on that today.

So do they have plans to make an Avid (m-audio oxygen) keyboard and an Avid (Digidesign PTLE) DAW play together nicely?

Thanks for the 'official' word. A sad day for useful hardware. Pass a note to program management that we are not pleased at all.

Although I do love PT and I wouldn't be without it I do sometimes wonder why I turned my back on Logic !!!! I'd be richer and have more hair.
This sucks digi !!!

Thanks for the info DTS, but, please tell'em it sucks (or exchange both my CS10s for one Surround Panner).

Thumbs down Re: PT8 CS10 legacy controller

This is complete garbage. First PT lags in its support of 3rd party VSTs (EastWest specifically) then it takes the one option for people who don't feel like spending $1000 on one of their control surfaces and flushes it down the toilet.

I'm feeling more and more like Digidesign is pigeonholing PT as a "M-Audio products or nothing" platform, which is really sad, because I do like the environment - but not at the expense of losing my say in what hardware I can and cannot use.

On top of it's mountain of other issues this is closing in on the last straw before I go and buy a copy of Cubase.

I hate the axiom keyboards. I don't like the way the keys feel and i hate the drum pads. I hate them almost as much as i hate my mbox.

I really like protools 8. To bad protools is owned by [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep]s.
