Confused
Right now I have a AlphaTrack. Lately I would like to control more then one channel at a time. Since I primarily use Pro Tools to mix with I don't need a "do every DAW controller" would love a C24 but that is waaaaay out of my budget. Plus there are a whole lot of features I would waste my money on i.e. monitor control & preamps. The Euphonix Artist controllers seem to have their issues and from what I hear sound like a flimsy toy. I know the Command 8 is a stripped down version of Avid's big controllers but is it usable without a whole bunch of issues? My other consideration is a iPad with the VControl app. I am OK with the touch screen thing and don't need to "grab" a knob. And if i did want to grab a knob I could always keep my AlphaTrack around. Is it me or there seems to be a gap as for a really good controller for Pro Tools without spending a boat load of money. Are there any rumors of anything new coming down the pike to wait for? With the age of the Command 8 is it at the end of its line? . . . . . . what to do?

Re: Confused
What issues are you referring to? Have you had the opportunity to actually try one of these for any length of time in your own studio?

Re: Confused
A used Command8 is still a good controller option.

Re: Confused
@Soundtrack - you should take the posts of people looking for tech support help with a grain of salt. To just count the problems and not count the thousands of users who are having a good experience might be doing yourself a disservice. You can search the archives and find posts about people who are having issues with almost every piece of gear AVID manufactures- all this means is that this forum has proven to be pretty useful for those who are having issues. Most use their gear with little or no problems.
