It seems like Avid is realizing that Native systems are becoming more and more capable. It's great that Native now has the ability to have more voices. I've had to own an HDX 2 system just for that capability, but it made working on mix adjustments remotely impossible. Now they just need to add delay compensation for side chains to Native! Currently I have to commit (Freeze doesn't work properly with heat) before opening sessions on my secondary HD native system, otherwise the mixes do not match due to side chains being out of sync. This is a HUGE workflow killer for me, and I can't believe it's something that has not been addressed yet! Any word that this is being worked on?

![]() Honestly, I’d highly recommend LFO Tool over Pumper for that type of task. Far more flexible but still very simple to use. Pretty much the same price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Good to know they’re aware of the need for this!
If I were simply looking to make instruments pump on quarter notes, I’d definitely use oneknob or LFO tool. As a mixer I’m using side chains to duck specific frequencies on multiple tracks. Most often sub info on overlapping bass/808’s/kicks, but sometimes pushing elements down to keep them out of the way of vocals. It’s become crucial for my workflow on projects with a lot of low frequency info. Last edited by thebeatless; 05-10-2019 at 11:46 PM. |
