Xp Home is just fine, recognises multicore Processers and has less processes running than Xp Pro. Its also cheaper

Theres no real benifit to running XP Pro unless you actually need one of its Pro only features.

Hi Sunburst, Thanks for the reply I really appreciate all your help. I am going to start building today. Can you please tell me about your opinion for Hardrives....I have one of the 1st version's of the 36gig WD Raptors w/ 8MB Cache ...I was thinking to use it for system drive. I think I will go to BB today and pick up an Audio Drive. Dont know to much about Seagate Barracuda 7200.10, but I see a lot of guys using here. I would like to know which drive is considered to be rated best for a DAW.

Thanks, Tracy

The absolute fastest consumer drive is probably the new 2.5" Velociraptor, but it may be overkill as its $300 for 150 GB and 10000 rpm.
I use WD AAKS 400GB and 500GB drives that are quieter than most HDs. According to DIGI as long as its 7200rpm its good for the task.

Hi Guys, Well I guess I was in such a rush and really busy this week that I forgot a couple of things when purchasing....Duhh. I was planning on re-using my Power Supply but its not 24 pin so that was the 1st problem. Second problem is that the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro cpu fan I ordered will not fit on the ASUS P5K DELUXE/WIFI-AP as there is a heat sinc on the board thats in the way. Anyone else using this Power Supply ?(I thought So!!) Did you have to Mod it? Real Bummer. I was thinking of going to BB and getting another Power Supply and just using the stock CPU fan. I reallw want finish the build today if I can.

Thanks, Tracy

Well I thought there were other people using it, tell me please which way are you pointing the fan, I am using a server 4U case and I pointing it to the back, tried pointing to the front but still hitiing the heatsink on the board. Just to make sure we are talking about the exact fan here is the link.

yep, we're talkin' about the same one. i'm usin' a LIAN-LI case. the actual fan itself is mounted to the side of the ram slots. this allows the fan to blow across the heat sink towards the back to the 120mm exhaust fan. hope that makes sense. and again NO problem at all with the mount.
