Are any of these free VST plug-ins worth paying for the VST wrapper thing???

Any opinions would be appreciated.

The wrapper is worth the money, but there are very few free plugs that are worth a darn out there.

The GUI's wouldnt draw for me in those, but that was way back on 6.4 so maybe it will work now.

There aren't very many good free vst's out there. I like the digital fish phones ones the best, out of my fanatical searching. They sound pretty good, and make the wrapper pretty worth it. When I first got the wrapper, there were lots of plug-ins that were only VST (like a lot of PSP stuff). A lot of them are RTAS now, so the wrapper is less of an issue for me these days.

Yep, the Kjaerhus have been updated and are working now.

As to "good" free VSTs.. depends massively on your musical style and how you work. No, you won't find many good compressors, EQs, reverbs for free (though the "SIR" reverb is excellent, and there are some good niche comp/limiters out there.. BuzMaxi, the Digitalfishphones stuff). OTOH, for glitchy, mess-stuff-up, electronica-oriented plug-ins, you're absolutely spoiled for choice; ditto synthesizers. The wrapper also opens up your access to some relatively affordable, and excellent quality, VSTs such as the Sonitus plug-ins and the Voxengo range.

I just tried the Kjarhus plugins, and they are actually pretty good and work without a hitch.
