Hush Pro is fantastic. I'm blown away by how well it can remove noise without effecting voice quality.

I'm using it in combination with Cedar DNS One still. Using them in tandem usually means I don't have to push each one too hard.

The biggest drawback to Hush is that it's audiosuite and not a real time insert, which is another reason I still keep the Cedar DNS One around. It's nice to have a quick and easy way to back off settings or push them more on the stage.

I'm also using DxRevive as well, but I find my Cedar/Hush combo works better for general noise reduction. However where DxRevive excels is at rebuilding missing frequencies, such as poorly recorded or off-mic dialogue, or archival or cell phone audio that is just simply missing frequencies. I use the other plugins to reduce noise, but I use DxRevive to rebuild signals, if that makes sense.

I would consider all 3 (Cedar DNS One, Hush Pro and DxRevive) as indispensable parts of my modern day kit. I still use Izotope RX as well for spot spectral repairs and clicks etc, but I find I'm reaching for it less and less these days.

I'd be curious to try the new Cedar VoiceEx, but its cost is simply far too high compared to its competition. It would have to absolutely blow everything else out of the water for me to entertain that price, and from what I'm reading on this board it seems it's good but not 4x the price good. I will say though that I am very happy to still have my Cedar DNS One at least.

Totally agree about Hush Pro and to clarify, it does work on Intel Macs, I'm using it myself on a mac pro 2019.
It's just a little slow and beachballs a bit but it doesn't crash and gets the job done.

Good to know. I’ve never tried it on an intel but was told silicon only by the developer

Joining this thread which seems to have more traction than my own on the same topic.

Surprised to read someone say that they found VoicEX ineffective because I did some critical comparisons and found it very useful and frequently better than the closest competitor (Clear) at isolating dialog while retaining a good sounding signal.

The price boggles, though. I'm not sure I can justify the expense.

The interesting thing is that I find them language dependent. Not really the language it self but articulations that makes the NR intelligible even after severe cleaning. Most machine learning NR tools are trained exclusively for English (except DXRevive Pro) and it makes a difference if you work in other languages.

That is an interesting point regarding language. Most of my work is in English but I do some in French so I'll be listening out for that.
