Hello, everyone this is my first post. If anyone could help me out with my question I would much appreciate the gesture. Has anyone received a notification on the free upgrade to Pro Tools 9 to Pro Tools 10 yet or when will the emails go out? I luckily fall into the small window and I haven't received an email yet. I did register on the 20th. Anyways, any information would help.

People were starting to receive their upgrade emails since Friday. I for one got my upgrade email yesterday morning. I registered my PT9 on September 28th however since its a Student license I qualify for the free 4 years of upgrades. Just hang in there and hopefully you will get the email soon.

Does the upgrade remove my Pro Tools 9 license?

I believe it does, but I think you can download it and not install it. I was going to wait to install it until the first updated came out. I might be wrong. I still haven't received my email yet. There might be someone here that has experience with updating it that can chime in.

The upgrade will replace your PT 9 software with PT 10 but the license is a 10+9 Bundle so that if need be you could still use your iLok for PT 9.

So, I could updated my ILOK and save the upgrade and not install it if I want. Then when there is a proper update I can install it?

Yes. Just double check your account page on Avid and make sure you can see both Pro Tools 9 and 10 software listed under your products. From there you can download either one.
