I had the same question? Probably something to do with dithering. Interested to see the response.

Just grabbed the L3LL collection during the current Waves sale. Doesn't have the 16 band version but I didn't need that.

I use TDR Limiter, haven't seen anything better in terms of features and easy to use. My approach is to drop a simple mastering chain in the master (comp, saturation if needed, Doia, eqs, Limiter) and tweak it during mix; bypass the master before exporting each song, import all the songs in a separate project and insert to each song it's own mastering chain used during the mix and start mastering from there.

My music doesn't need to be the loudest anymore so one limiter is more than enough for me.

If the ME is going to do processing in the digital domain, I'd as soon give a hi-res file to start. Of course, I may well be kidding myself that it matters, its just how I roll(and, so far, no ME has sent stuff back for fixes or changes)

What is 'Doia'?
Do you use any mid/side processing?

DoIA by our own @quintosardo, https://youtu.be/Xu0v85jDznQ
My first choice for eq is Overtone, it is subtle enough to make difficult to mess with the MS https://youtu.be/GMI8R95PLBI
I also mix at very low levels to avoid triggering its saturation circuit.

As someone who works in that field, I'll say the reason you haven't had anything sent back for fixes or changes is due to the mixes being good, rather than the resolution you sent them in. :)

I was thinking about this a lot and decided to make a video about my approach, sometimes I get away with only this chain (and using reference tracks).

Wow this is old but didn't saw it . I was talking about this :

#3-bounce to disk at 96k/24 bit, even if the session is at 44.1 or 48k(as most of mine are).
