Default Is there a way to bounce faster than realtime?

I am using Pro Tools LE 4.2. I am putting books, short stories and longer intervues on CD. And in Pro Tools 4.2 i can bounce as fast as the cpu allows me. But I want to upgrade to a Mac G4 and the latest version of PT. I hear you must bounce in realtime even if you do not have any effects. Is this true? Is there a way around it? Or do I have to consider a different program?
Thanks for any info on this.

It is true. Bounce is only real time.
But if you are working with only one stereo or mono track, you can prosess it with audiosuite effects as fast as the cpu allows, one effect at a time. This will not let you automate plugins, volumes and so on.

If you're only editing (no FX or volumes involved), you can also use the consolidate command (non real time) and then export that consolidated region as file (still non real time). Now, if you need volume changes or plugs, it's bounce and wait, wait, wait, wait........

Once again, this would be a welcomed addition.
IT could be a "bounce files only" option that would allow a fast mix of the files.
IT would be great for consolidating a few tracks and such.
