Default installing HD cards in new Mac Pro?

Anyone else have an issue fitting your HD cards in the new 8 core Mac Pros? the first available slot (after the videocard) has a circuit near the opening that prohibits the HD card from seating all the way. The cap (or whatever it is) conflicts with the bottom of the Digi card. This isn't an issue for me with only 2 cards, I can just skip the first slot. ALSO, is it just me or is it pretty difficult to put the cards in ANYWHERE since they are really long.

Just curious.

Tim

Yes they are rather dificult and don't really seat right, if you take out the drive bays it's alot easier to get them in from top to bottom, Digi had this in the installation instructions.

Best!

Yeah, I'm having the same problem with slot two. That plastic cap thing won't let my card sit properly either. Did a search for this problem specifically. . . can the card go in a different PCIe slot?

Talked to Digi. It's ok for the core card to be placed in one of the other pcie slots. They said that eventually, there will be a repair/replacement card program for those using PCIe core cards in new mac pros so that the card will fit properly in slot 2.

Is this a problem with this model too?

Standard Configuration (MA970LL/A) Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5400 series processors

Or does this problem exist with every MacPro?
