Default beware Avid Repairs

a few weeks ago my Eleven rack completely froze on startup and would not advance past the boot screen,I tried all the resets and troubleshooting ,now Avid is charging $470.00 plus tax and shipping to fix.I spoke to the local music store where it was purchased, and they are going to help,no thanks to Avid,I't will be fixed and sold.

Just buy a new one on Ebay. Saw one for $379 w/ free shipping.

I stopped using ProTools years ago because of what Avid charges for software updates. Life is great w/o PT!! That really sucks what they're charging you for your 11r repair.

It was 1995/96 that Avid bought Digidesign. But they kept the brand "Digidesign". 2010 "Digidesign" became "Avid".

I don't get this attitude.
Sure, it's a bummer if your warranty just ran out - but it just is. Deal with it. The line has to be drawn somewhere, right? And if everybody would get a freeby just because they ran out only a month ago - what's the point of a limited warranty then?
Grow up and cope. You can be angry - I would be. Not at Avid, though, but at tough luck.
