Re: records made on 001
I recorded most of the guitars on the new Shebang ( http://www.shebang.redelvis.com ) album on the 001 with a Pod Pro. They spent 7 weeks at number one on the Swedish singles sales chart! Check it out, I got some great sounds out of the PodPro.

Re: records made on 001
Since when do we make comments on grammatical errors? I've been up for 42hrs straight working. What is your excuse?

Re: records made on 001
Gramatical errors? No no....
1) Digi001 is an audio interface: you don't mix with an audio interface! Perhaps you meant PTLE? Or you meant 'Kid A' was recorded with a Digi001? 2) Have you heard the CD? I strongly doubt they used a Digi001 for that. They can afford the best and I don't see why they would settle for PTLE or a Digi001 when they can use the power of ProTools. Have you noticed how much editing they are doing? 3) I've read somewhere that they used ProTools professional. |

Re: records made on 001
They used Logic Audio on TDM hardware. This I know.
But I doubt they "mixed" with Logic.... probably tracked to, edited (why they wouldn't use PT I don't know), processed some things (I'd swear there are some GRM Tools on Thom's voice at times), and perhaps did pre-mixing. But they probably used a large-format console for the actual mix. I don't mean to throw insults, but the idea that they mixed in PT LE is still funny to me. If anyone can prove otherwise I'm all eyes. |

Re: records made on 001
digi001/LE was used to track & mix 'Kid A.' Each song started with 6-tracks and expanded from there.
How do I know? When Radiohead/Thom were in Toronto for a gig, a close friend of mine interviewed him. Thom referred to PT LE as, "the 99 cent special." They just happened to interview him at the studio I work at. What I find funny is that people here believe you need "large consoles" and "expensive rigs" to record an album. 'Kid A' doesn't sound larger then life. Wow! Just like the success of the 'Blair Witch Project.' FUNNY! [This message has been edited by PeeTee (edited April 04, 2001).] |
