Default iPad App Interface for Pro Tools 10

I have been looking for an iPad App that would give me an interface that would allow me to control the basic functions (start, stop, record, pause, track selection, pan, mute, etc.) from inside my sound studio rather than my control room. I found an iPad App called: AC-7 by saitara software. Here's the link: http://www.saitarasoftware.com/Site/AC-7_Core.html

It looks like a Mackie Controller, and seems like it might do the job, as it lists Pro Tools as one of its compatible programs.

Does anyone have any experience with this or if not this, is there another iPad App that is more suitable?

Ac7 does work with pt. Cheap and easy to hook up. For a remote transport, it will def do the job.

It works a treat for me and is easy to set up. They also have a smaller version that works with an iPhone if you only want remote transport controls. Never had a problem with either.

FYI (in case you missed it), I recently started a thread on a new/recently-launched app (promo codes were being offered at the time) - see http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=320761

... don't frequent these parts often but noticed it's currently the next thread in 'general discussion'.

Was wondering what the difference was between V-Control Free and Pro (aside from the $50 bucks.) I haven't played with the free version much yet, but it looks very promising. Is there a comparison chart somewhere? Couldn't find it on the neyrink website.

I have tried both and v control pro is the clear winner. It also has free updates unlike AC7 core, when they finally came out with a new version, those of us who beta tested the original version and paid for it got know upgrade path, and would have to buy the new version at full price. V control pros creator worked for digidesign before starting his own company. I love v control and when they updated it, it was free and has a lot of new functionality like the ability to have any screen open in pro tools plugins etc or any other app on your Mac displayed and usable on your iPad. It's greeeeeeaaat!!

AC-7 Core does NOT work with Pro Tools 10 yet

Look in their forum and you will see

V-Control is THE way to go... flawless app and worth the $50

Those of you using v control pro:

Do you feel that it's a legitimate substitute for a mixing surface, or is it simply convenient when doing simple things from another room?
