Clicks between clips
Hi,
I keep getting pops and clicks between clips. I have tried overlaying with dead room clips and have tried fades between them, but they keep showing up. Most of the time I cant see/hear anything even with a really granular zoom or scrub. I'm a newbe here, so It may be a basic question. Thanks |

Re: Clicks between clips
Pops & clicks are often 'clock' related.
You're going to need to supply a lot more info on your WHOLE system, Hardware & Software with particular attention to interface being used & its clock settings, sample rate (session & interface.....they must match), driver used. Whether or not your interface is digitally connected to any other devices? As much info as you can muster.

Focusrite 2i2:
The only info in the Asio control panel for the focusrite is the 44.1 and a buffer size of 256 Session: 24 bit 44.1 Khz System delay 1065 samples Rode Condenser Microphone They seem to show up mostly at transitions between clips. Computer: Intel Nuc i3-6100 I'm writing to a external SSD via Usb 3.0 |

Re: Clicks between clips
Are you using specific Focusrite drivers for the 2i2 or Asio4all?

Quote:
If the clicks happen in the same place on playback each time, but not at clip boundaries, then you probably have a clocking problem and the audio has been recorded with the clicks. If the clicks happen randomly and not in the same place on each playback pass then you probably have a clock problem, interface problem or a CPU overhead problem - you don't give much system info, but you seem to say that you don't hear them when scrubbing: This implies to me that it's probably this last scenario. FWIW, seems like I see a lot of posts from people having clocking issues with these Focusrite interfaces on PCs.

Re: Clicks between clips
Sometimes increasing the buffer size can get rid of clicks with 2i2. Also best practice is to have interface directly on primary USB or powered hub. Some powered hubs are problematic so do some research if that is a way you feel like going. I always have mine direct usb and everything else on a powered hub so that all the computers usb power can be used by the 2i2. Don't know if it makes a difference but it makes me more confident .
