Default Insertion follows shuttle?

Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone knew how to do this. . .say you are shuttling by using the number pad. . .when you get to a place you want and stop - if you were to hit play you'd actually go back to where you started shuttling.

Even worse than that if you then stop at the wrong place and want to continue shuttling - you'll actually start shuttling from the very original start point.

Trying to do some tracklaying here and looking to shuttle through a scene - get to a frame where I want to start an effect such as a background. . .and looking the quickest way to do it and this seems like it might help me.

Even better would be the same 'insertion follows' idea but with me holding ALT while moving the shuttle wheel - as that scrolls along the timeline but doesn't actually have the picture follow it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

Setup > Preferences > Operations tab > edit insertion follows scrub/shuttle on.

Default Re: Insertion follows shuttle?

I have this same problem, but my preferences are set correctly (i.e. edit/insertion point follows scrub/shuttle = checked). I'm shuttling with window scrolling set to "page". If the window doesn't scroll, the insertion point is correct when I stop. If the window does scroll, the insertion point defaults to wherever I started shuttling. I can workaround this by immediately playing back by hitting spacebar, at which point it reorients itself. Feels like a bug to me, and is very annoying as this is a big part of my work as an audiobook editor.
