Default Pro Tools 10.3.10 and Yosemite

Just to save you some bandwidth, Pro Tools 10.3.10 is not only unsupported on Yosemite, the installer won't let you install it.

I run 10.3.9 with no issues on Yosemite 10.10.2

PT10 will never be officially fixed to work with Yosemite - Avid has said so. The package can be hacked to install but the other issues will never be fixed.

If you really need to have PT10 running on Yosemite and have a dual boot system you can use Apple Migration Assassin to bring over the program. As a rule you never want to use MA to bring over programs but it will work. I know because I tried just as a proof of concept. But you'll still have the plugin name missing issue.

Do you mean OSX 10.9.x? Once again - PT10 will not be officially supported on anything beyond OSX 10.8.x. As you know that's not to say it won't work, just that Avid won't support or fix it beyond ML.

I imagined as much, and wasn't expecting anything different. I just noticed that your previous comment was speaking of Yosemite...and that got me thinking about OSX 10.9 support

Cheers

The installer does actually consent to run on Mavericks though, I just tried it. Don't have the right ilok with me to confirm that PT still boots or functions normally but it definitely installs on Mavericks.

It's a shame that the only version of Pro Tools worth a damn for tracking isn't updated to use the latest OS.

Did you try to un-install 10.3.x first?
(Manually in OS 10.9 and 10.10)
