Error 6085 underflow Windows 7 PT9

Hi Friends-

Countless 6085 underflow errors. There is nothing plugged into my firewire port so this doesn't make sense. I'm using PT9 on Windows 7 64-bit. I've tried all sorts of suggestions that I've found on this forum. I will say that the underflow error is worse when I have a couple UAD-1 plugins active. Sometimes so bad that the session won't work at all. Here is my Sandra report. Anyone see anything glaring?

Well I'm no expert on this, but perhaps your mismatched memory might be an issue? Have you done each and every one of the AVID win 7 optimizations? Also, please explain your hard drive setup. Are they partitioned? Which do use for your PTools session data?

Right, I know I have that mismatched memory thing. Maybe that is it????

I did EVERY one of the Avid Win 7 optimizations, and all of the elective ones too. My hard drive setup is that I have 2 physical hard drives. All data and sessions are on that drive E. Then I have a bunch of partitions on the other one, hence all the "drives". This is where several different operating systems live, including Windows 7. Long story on why that is. Anyhow, could that be problem?

Disable this when running Pro Tools(at least until you get the problem solved. The you can bring this back and see if it causes the problem). Mis-matched RAM raises a flag to me as well and I would remove all 4 sticks and install 2x4GB of some major branded compatible RAM(and make sure timings show correctly with a new Sandra report). If nothing is on the firewire port, I would also try disabling that in Device Manager(or BIOS).

BTW, why so many drive partitions? Personally, I would not partition any drive of 500GB or smaller, and I would only split a larger drive in half for "housekeeping". For sure, its not helping performance.

I'm going to address the RAM issue. I also am going to do away with some of those drive partitions.

I'm running a couple versions of XP, one was exclusively so I could run my student copy of PT7 JUST so I could get cheaper OMF conversion...I'd boot in one side, convert the OMF from the client and then boot up in my regular side to work. Not useful anymore with PT9 thank goodness! One of the partitions happened because I read in some guide that you should have a separate partition for some sort of caching or something...I honestly just did it and forgot about it. The other partition is my tried and true XP running PT LE 7.4 cs2. It's very stable and being that I need it for my work I've gotta keep it until I'm positive this Windows 7 thing will work right.

As to the wifi, I would disable it in Device Manager for now. When you achieve solid performance, THEN try just unplugging it(the idea is to eliminate as much as possible until you reach the happy zone). Good on ya for keeping the old XP config, but I choose a slightly different method. There are several SATA drive cages available(from single to 4 slot) that install in place of unused 5.25" drive slots. These allow for swapping hard drives without tools, so I keep my system drive, a clone of my system drive, and the last solid working system drive(I actually have the one before that as well since I grab drives on sale whenever I see a great deal). I can also devote a recording drive to certain clients and just swap out recording drives as needed. The single slot(for your system drive) can be found for under $20 from Kingwin(newegg.com) or DatOptik(but don't worry about all this till you get the issues ironed out)

I've disabled the wifi in the Device Manager. I've double checked that I've followed ALL of the Digi Windows 7 Optimizations. Still having the the errors. New memory is on it's way. Oh, I wanted to add that the mismatched memory doesn't effect Protools in XP...

Ok, got 2 sticks of 2 gig, crucial ddr2 PC6400 RAM. Still have the same problem. Anyone have any ideas? Is is my old motherboard??

Anyone? Am I in a deep black hole here? Should I try replacing my motherboard? It happens even when I remove the UAD-1 cards. I am running out of ideas here.
