Re: 5.1.1-How can I get the click through the headphones
It's hard to say without knowing how you have your headphone mix routed.
Where is your click coming from? a midi module, Soft Sample cell?, a keyboard? Is the click source (midi module, etc.) routed into Pro Tools via an Aux track? If so, use a send to get it to your headphone mix. If not, you may want to route it into Pro Tools so you then send it where you need to. Jon Connolly Digidesign Product Specialist |

Re: 5.1.1-How can I get the click through the headphones
I have my headphone amp run out of the aux. out,And All that I know how to do with the click that is in the midi section is get it through the speakers. They are run off of a Mackie board coming from the "monitor speakers out" cable on the back of my cntrl 24. My question, after the last response is, do I Have to have an external midi source or can I not just manipulate the routing that I do not understand in the click SELECT PORT/CHANNEL OUTPUT section?

Doesn't ProTools have an internal click? I've never been able to figure it out. Is that what you're using?

Re: 5.1.1-How can I get the click through the headphones
Unfortunately, Pro Tools does not have an internal click. Some sort of midi device must be used to create the click such as a midi module, midi keyboard w/sounds, or Soft Samplecell (which is what I use).
If you don't have any of these devices "configured" as your click there is no routing that will give the click. If it's a midi keyboard/module that is producing the click then you should route it into your Pro Tools session via an Aux. The audio outputs of your sound source should be connected to a pair (or one for mono) of inputs on your Pro Tools interface (888, 1622, 001, etc.) Assign the inputs of your Aux tracks to match. Once this is done you can route the click to headphones, monitor speakers, etc. like you would any other audio signal. If you don't have a midi device as a sound source for you click, you should look into Soft Samplecell. It's software only that can be easily configured into a Pro Tools template so that you have a click when ever you need it. Hope this helps. Jon Connolly Digidesign Product Specialist |
