PT update from 12.4 - 12.8 iLok issue

I installed PT 12.8 after running 12.4 for the past couple years and when I open Pro Tools I get a message to activate my iLok. I click activate and get a message that I have no active licenses. However, according to my Pro Tools account I have a current (perpetual) PT 12 license, which also shows up in my iLok manager. I updated to the latest iLok manager, but Pro Tools still won't open. Any suggestions?

I think it was 12.5 that they changed the license. So you have to surrender your 12.4 license and put the new one on your iLok. Scary stuff for sure.

Yes, they changed that last fall. You "surrender" the license and get another one. There's a tech note in one of the Avid posts. I did it a few months ago, no problems after I got over the fear.

The change in licensing occurred with the 12.6 release. If you had a valid Upgrade Plan when 12.6 was released you should have received an updated license which would be activated in iLok License Manager (with a surrender of your old license). Please reply if you did not receive the updated license so we can take care of that.
