I'm not clear on what 'perspective' you're looking for.
If you're having problems with your pedal, please provide information about the pedal model, how you have it connected and your settings on the C|24 and Pro Tools, so we can try to diagnose what's going wrong. Also, have you tried a different pedal?

Switchcraft makes a momentary push button switch that looks like an XLR mic connector from the side. Solder one of these:
http://www.switchcraft.com/products/switch-269a.html to the end of a guitar cable and have the producer hold it in their hand(watch Jeopardy to see what I mean as this is what the contestants use).
