C24 and 3rd Party Plug-ins
Has anyone tried the C24 with 3rd party plug-ins? I've heard that C24 support won't be addressed with waves until 2 software releases from now. Can any waves or other 3rd party plug-in parameters currently be manipulated in any way with the C24?

Re: C24 and 3rd Party Plug-ins
Most plugins use their Procontrol mapping, which is quite usable in most cases, although a bit clumsy in others.
Some Waves plugins (Rcomp,Desser, L1, L2)are simple and work well with C24, others don't. I've just tried the demo of the (magnificent!)Analog Channel from McDSP and it's the first 3rd party plugin I've seen to offer true C24 support. Izhar |

Re: C24 and 3rd Party Plug-ins
Thanks Izhar. I'm hopefully going to pick up a C24 in the near future. Your comments have made me feel all the better about doing so. Can you tell me if Ren EQ also works well? Also, how does analog channel sound?
Thanks again, John |

Re: C24 and 3rd Party Plug-ins
Sadly, while waves dynamic processors work great with c24, all waves eq don't show their parameters names on the scribble strips, only "band", unless you press the show values button on c24 and then you can have a clue about what you are doing. Not nice. Waves told me they are not sure when they'll fix it. We'll use other eq's in the meantime, I guess.

Re: C24 and 3rd Party Plug-ins
I've only run into problems with the Waves stuff, same as described above. Oh, and don't try to run Auto-tune with a C24 and PT 5.1. Quit with a type 2 guaranteed. The workaround is to disable the C24 in the peripherals dialog and make adjustments to the parameters with the mouse and keyboard. When finished, re-establish communication with the C24. Hopefully a fix is in the works...soon.

Re: C24 and 3rd Party Plug-ins
Jan,
Thanks for the Auto Tune workaround, I was desperate about not being able to use Autotune in my new setup. About Waves, I can't say much, but expect C24 support in the not too distant future. |
