Permission Error 5000 PT10

Hi All,

After a good few years out from mixing I'm going to be getting my feet wet again. Problem is once Protools 10 is open, if I try to create a new session it comes up with an error stating: Could Not Create A new document because you do not have appropriate access privileges (-5000) while creating "IO Settings".

Seems very bizarre. If I open Pro Tools 11 everything works fine.

Any ideas what I can do please? I need Pro Tools 10 to function properly and using Protools 11 all the time is not an option for me.

Hi Stig,

Thanks for your help so far. I had already looked at that links suggestions.

Unfortunately creating a new user and loading Protools 10 within that user does not change the issue.

The folder that the page mentions Macintosh HD/Users/Library/Preferences/DAE Prefs I cannot find on my laptop. Not sure if that could be the issue?

I'm on OS 10.10.5

Hopefully someone can help me fix this as not being able to use Pro Tools 10 is a real problem.
