Default Sonnet Echo Express III-D Thunderbolt 3 edition

Recently ordered the thunderbolt 3 edition of the Sonnet Echo Express III-D to house my HDX and UAD cards. Only just read that our HDX cards are NOT compatible with the thunderbolt 3 edition of of the Sonnet chassis, only the thunderbolt 2 edition. Does anybody know when we could expect HDX to be compatible with the thunderbolt 3 chassis? I'm assuming it's an Avid issue and not a Sonnet or Thunderbolt issue since other cards don't seem to have any compatibility problems. If the fix is forthcoming, I'll just wait, but if this is going to be a persistent issue, I'd rather find a thunderbolt 2 chassis to use.
Thanks!

The Sonnet thunderbolt connection is on a daughter card. You can change a TB3 to a TB2 by a swap of that card in that chassis. Talk to Sonnet.

So ask Sonnet to send me the TB2 card to make HDX work with the chassis now and then swap the card back to the TB3 card when Avid is compatible?
Thanks

Indeed, I've talked to the Sonnet guys at the IBC recently, and they stated the Echo Express III thunderbolt 3 is not compatible with HDX cards. TB 2 card is.
They don't know when they expect it to work, because the "fault" lies at Avid they say...
