Default What does the VCAI control knob do?

I'm working on a session in Cubase 8.0.2 and on the top row of knobs (which allow you to choose INSERTS, EQ, AUX etc. I am seeing knob #13 show VCAI. I've not seen this before. If I press/turn the knob, it doesn't seem to do anything. Does anyone know about this. Is there some sort of feature I don't know about here? I am using VCA's in this session which I don't normally do so possibly it has something to do with that?

Hi

It says VCA-1 if that is the button you are asking about.

It is a VCA controll knob and you can assign VCA spill for example.
Try this and let us know how it goes:

Assign some channels to VCA 1
Assign VCA's to global section
Double press control button to latch Fine mode
Double press Sel button for VCA 1 to spill the VCA members

this should control the VCA but I haven't tried it on a S3 controller yet.

Tried a new blank project and making some tracks linked to a VCA but whatever I do, there doesn't seem to be any functionality out of that knob.

I've only heard of VCA Spill as a Pro Tools feature. I'm not a Pro Tools user and I've never heard the term used in the context of Cubase.

It definitely looks like a letter 'I' rather than a number '1' by the way. Seems to say VCAI.

Great. Thanks. I forgot to make it clear, the Cubase 8.0.2 update just came out a couple of days ago and I presume this new VCAI knob is something related to the update. Whether it's actually a new feature or just some sort of bug that accidentally displays something incorrectly, I do not know.
