Default Waves plugs not passing audio some times in PT10 HD

I'v mentioned this before and never got to the bottom of this. I'm on windows 7, PT 10.3.10 HD and latest waves plugins all genuine. Every now and then some ways plugs don't pass audio, if I make them inactive the audio gets through. I then have to close the session and reopen and all is well. Anybody suffers this before. When I contacted waves they said they had never heard of this and must be a pro tools issue, but I'm not quite sure of that. Many thanks in advance :)

Ok here is a little bit of an update on my issue when the track is not passing audio I've noticed HEAT is not working on the track either. If I make the waves plug inactive audio comes through no probs but HEAT on that track is still not working. I then click pre on HEAT above the track and HEAT starts working, but as soon as I press pre again HEAT stops working again and audio is not getting passed through again. So is the issue HEAT and waves plugins conflicting. I never had this when I used Waves V8 it's only since I've been on V9

Please someone shed some light on this it's driving me crazy!!

Have you reported this to Waves? Their tech support is quite good so I would get them involved. Sorry I can't test here but I am on HDN so HEAT is not an option. What happens if you remove HEAT? I have never seen what you describe here, so that makes me think that HEAT is at least PART of your issue

I have reported this to waves a while back and their reply was they have not heard of this and it must be a pro tools issue

What version of HEAT do people have installed

Hi,
I had a intermittent problem with my licenses, triggered by large sessions using lots of RAM, that Waves initially backed away from saying it was my system. Long story short…..they had me move my licenses to a USB stick and that fixed the issue.

Waves explanation: there's an issue with Win 7 and 32 bit apps with the OS not reporting back to the app correctly messing up access…

You and I have similar systems, I've never had your problem. I have the latest version of Heat.

Not sure this helps at all other than to point out we both have odd problems with Waves V9 and our 32bit PT rigs
Good luck

@deafguy that's interesting my licenses are on a USB stick already. If I close the session and then reopen this normally sorts the issue I'm wondering if the distribution of the plugins to the chips on the HD cards is getting messed up sometimes ?

Im going to resurrect this thread because I still get the same issue sometimes and I haven't got a clue what it is. It seems to always be the same plugins. SSL, API and renenissance EQ and it only happens on big sessions. No other plugin do this at all just these waves ones. Ive tried V8 and V9 and still the same issue. Anybody out there have a clue what might be causing this, im willing to try anything

Please help, somebody

Run the uninstaller.

When it's done, delete any Waves folders or waveshells from the following directories:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)
  • C:\ProgramData
  • C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming
  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins
  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\Plug-Ins

Next, run CCleaner to clear the registry of Waves entries.
