Default New HD3 taking a long time to open old sessions

PT6.7
HD 3 Accel
Sync
2x192
OS 10.3.4
Dual 1.42 Gig G4
1 Gig DDR Ram

We have just installed this rig in one of our studios (upgrade from os9). When trying to open large sessions we get the spinning wheel of death. It appears to be happening to sessions with more than 16 busses but I have yet to verify this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Luke

One possible workaround is to create a new session in 6.7 and use 'import session data' to transfer the tracks from the old session to the new session. If that doesn't work, try transfering half of the tracks then try transferring the other half. It's hard to see what's on a track when you're transferring it, but at least if there's some sort of feature in your sessions that's causing you problems, you might be able to narrow it down a little easier.

It might just be some peculiarity with your I/O setup on the old sessions that is causing the problem on your new rig. IIRC, importing a track will ignore at least some of the I/O setup info from your old session, so maybe this can help you to avoid the problem.

Best of luck,

Couple of things come to mind:

The spinning wheel appears when "restoring inserts" (loading plug-ins) ? Or when "restoring outputs"? (mixer loading)??

I suspect that the SWOD is due to DSP Manager performing a pre-flight (virtual shuffle) ensuirng that all plug-ins can load and restore.

Are all TDM plug-ins updated with latest versions? Any old third party plugs in there?
