Default Cd Burners

Hey there.
I'm looking to purchase a cd burner
and I am wondering what the general recommendations are for brand speed and price.
Any feedback would be great.

Thanks

On Adaptec's site there is comparison of nearly every CD Burner. The pages that make up this chart show what capabilities a burner has and what software it is compatible with. I recently picked up a plextor 8/20 that does everything but barcodes. I've also had good experience with yamaha.

I also like Yamaha's. Don't know and understand why but somehow, they seem to "sound" better for audio CD's. I have compared with Sanyo and Pinnacle drives, and honestly heard a difference (twilite zone).

but bevare and take care! Most newer burners are no longer compatible with Jam software, if that is what you are planning to use, I heard that Plextor has a patch you can download to make their newer burners work with Jam. Be sure!!!
