Default Midi Volume Problems

I have PTLE 7.3 (ignore the equipment list) and am using midi tracks I imported from Cubase. Some tracks work fine, but on other tracks I have jog midi volume when the song starts. If I close the song and come back to it I have to do this all over again, each and everytime. This is the only song I'm having problems with. I have evem manually inserted a volume event at the beginning of each track, but to no avail.

BTW the synth plugin geing used is GPO.

Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated!

I haven't worked with MIDI in nearly 15 years, (actually did an album totally MIDI in 1987!) so I hope I'm not telling you information that is redundant or non-relevant but you do realize the volume in midi is known as velocity and if you're changing the volume in the PT edit window you may not be correcting your problem. Do a search for "velocity".
I hope I didn't just make an ass of myself!

if you haven't already, i would look at the volume on the VI itself, the master volume on that VI plugin, the volume on the INSTR or AUX track, and the volume on the MIDI track just to make sure somethin' is not slippin' between the cracks. almost sounds as if there is some automation goin' on

Again though, that would be the velocity from the machine going to PT, not the volume in the edit screen, if he had a 'note off' or 'no velocity' being sent along with the 'note on note off' info the volume automation isn't going to effect it. try cutting and pasting the beginning of the second verse and see if it still does it.

oh, i thought everythin' was in the box

EDIT: i see what you're sayin' tho. but i assumed playback in CUBASE had no problems, which if the case, would mean it's in the box on the PTLE side (i would think)

Hey, I have another Idea. I'm not sure if your session is actually triggering these events in real time but when you've changed the volume manually and it appears to be working, record the track to another, (buss in and out) then close your session and re-open.

Thanks for everybody's input. I really appreciate it. What I did out of desparation was to get the instruments leveled for a session and bounced them to a track.

I'm movin' on...
