It's not 'all of a sudden' - it's been qualified since 7.4.1 for Leopard was announced.

I don't think so!! i've been visiting the magma pe6r4 pages since 7.4.1 was released waiting for it to be qualified and it was only listed as qualified approx 7 days back!!

Chris - you are correct. I just double-checked and the qualfication was announced on March 19th. It had been originally planned for qualification at the same time as the Leopard release, but further testing was needed.

To further clarify, there were no software updates involved with the Magma PE6R4 qualification with PTHD 7.4.1. It was originally listed as "not tested" in the original 7.4.1 compatibility, but was changed to qualified after testing was completed. Apologies for any confusion. We should have listed that qualification on the DUC when the compatibility page was updated.

I got mine on Ebay for $250, then bought the card and cable from Magma. Working great with HD2 Accel on my Macbook Pro with Leopard. Still having problems with memory allocation in the playback engine though...

If this is what I think it is, then an uninstall and reinstall of Pro Tools should take care of the problem.

I'm ignorant of the whole chassis situation. Is the one you're talking about (the one you got for 250 on ebay), a supported solution? Can I get the 4 unit Magma chassis and use it with 7.4 on my Mac PPC Dual 2.0 ghz machine and Leopard? Or if I get a new Intel Harpertown, will PT 7.4 work with it? Obviously its working for some people.

Is there a definitive list of chassis that will work with old PCIX cards (regardless of whether or not they are plugged into a PPC or Intel Mac)?

Am I hijacking at this point? Sorry if I am...
