Well thats something we can't answer as Avid can take away that license whenever they want to. But for now it remains as a bundle in PT12 and i would be very surprised if that changed anytime soon seeing many users need PT10 to work.

If and when that happens, your options will be to buy an old second hand license for PT10 off ebay, or buy a new pro tools license so that you can keep your existing 10/11/12 bundle forever.

The day will come when Avid decides the time is right to drop having a PT10 license in the bundle, but only Avid knows when that will be. Probably not as soon as we fear, but sooner than we hope.

A Pro Tools 10 license is required to open some old projects so I can't see Avid dropping bundle upgrades for years. One thing they've done far better than most is protecting our old projects.

"Far better than most", well ......

Apart from when they decided to remove PT10 licenses from vanilla upgraders who had complained about havng to pay for support they didn't want or need, but were having forced upon them if they wanted to stay current ...... eventually adding it back into the license bundle only after one almighty outcry (though they've not bothered updating their website to reflect that in the WEEKS since),

And

Apart from the website now totally focusing on subscriptions, so you have to go searching to buy a perpetual PT license or upgrade, and guess what, no PT10 license with subscriptions,

And

Apart from Avid's recent history of withdrawing stuff that people would still find incredibly useful for their old (and new) projects, for purely commercial reasons ..... CPTK, drivers for 'legacy' hardware (ProControl, Control24 et al)

I admire your ever present optimism ;-)
