Default Sync issue with HDX and RME MADI Interfaces

We're having inconsistent sync when using our RME Micstacy MADI Remote Control Preamps with our HD MADI I/O in Protools 10.3.7. Sometimes everything syncs, other times we get intermittent digital "ticks" in PT channels. We can usually "futz" with hardware settings and resolve the problem. However, the next time we open a session and want to use the MADI inputs we sometimes have the same issue again. It continues to be frustrating!

Any help?

Our system is: Mac Pro 2.66 GHz 6-core Intel Xeon 24GB RAM OS X 10.8.4 / HD X / MADI I/O / HD I/O 8X8X8 / PT 10 - 11 / RME Micstacy 4x / RME ADI-8 QS

I've actually heard of this issue before. I would contact Avid support. I think their is a solution like updating firmware or something.
