Default SoundDesigner and G4 AGP

Does anyone gets his G4 working with Sounddesigner 2.8.3 and an AMIII card? It seems it doesn't work for me, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Spark is not ready yet, so I need SD very badly!!!

You seem little behind on your info !
SDII will never work on the newer models (G3/G4)
Spark is allready working on Spark 1.6 (I have it up and running for months now...)

Unfortunatly there are not enough playback options in Spark 1.5(listen from editpoint, to editpoint, etc.), no playlist integration with MasterList, very slow file handling and many more minor disadvantages. We still have to wait...

I have SD 2.8.3 with an AudioMedia III card running on a Blue & White G3. It was the most convoluted install. You need an external floppy drive for authorization and the PACE key and floppy disk enablers. Once it worked, it has worked wonderfully since. We are on a 450MHz G3 w/ OS 8.6. We also have a 20G FireWire Drive in use and have noted that it works fine - except that the remaining time in the record window does not update. Note: SD will not authorize the SCSI drives hooked up to a PCI/ SCSI interface - you will need a IDE drive for the system software and SDII.

SDII had the nicest (though slow) pitch shift. Even though PT's has auto tune I would still use SDII's pitch shift. Where's my beautiful "compare to note" function? It's not as noticible when you pitch notes seperately.
Plus, God gave me perfect pitch and Autotune doesn't perfect the intonation in a natural fluent way. Maybe it's OK in a sterel POP world but forget it for a classical track.
BRING BACK SDII TO PT's 5.0/G4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use SD II 2.82 on both a G4/400 and G4/500. No problems whatsoever.

Say what ? Do you use a [k] version ? Or does it make use of just teh Soundmanager ? I was told that SDII was not longer supported nor would it run on anything from G3 and up.... (even sold my version 2.83•)

I use SDII 2.82 on a G4, with an AMIII card. I run it at the same time as PT, as well as MLCD. No problems whatsoever.

We're producing a weekly public radio 1-hr. music program on a B&W G3/400 with SDII and and AMIII card. Works great! Zero problems (except that it won't support my Waves plugins...gotta split tracks and process in PT AudioSuite.
