Default Video Codec dnxhd

I have 3 questions

1 - Where can I get the dnxhd (Video) codec

2 - Will it work on Pro Tools 8LE

3 - If not, what are other choices for video codecs compatible with PT 8LE

what are you using for your video out of your LE rig?

an OG analog Mojo will use the HDx codecs nicely

there is a codec pack (or there was) for QT to see HDx codecs here http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...nload/en423319

I am not using anything for my output. I am trying to import video into pro tools so I can sync music :)

The codec says it's
"Codecs LE and PE bundled with Media Composer 6, Symphony 6.0 and Newscutter 10"

will these work on pro tools?

Thank you Craig

LE for Pro Tools and other apps
PE is for Media Composer
you may need an older version http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...ility/en350875

I know this post is ancient, but it is literally the only thing on Avid's site I can find that's even close to answering my question. I need the DNxHD codec (that I used to have) on our old rig, running PT 10 HD|Accel on a hackintosh with Mac OS 10.6.8. OR I need an uninstaller for the version that's on the computer which doesn't work. I can keep trying old versions of the codec from https://www.videohelp.com/software/A...ns#downloadold but I can't install an older one over a newer one and can't find an uninstaller anywhere.

Thank you. Strange thing, though, there is no Quicktime folder in my Library folder. Perhaps that's why the codec I have installed isn't working...

Just making sure you are looking at the System Library folder and not the User Library folder...

Just thinking out loud but you could do a spotlight search to find one of the files in order to find the folder they are nested in.
An example filename is:

AvidAV1xCodec.component

I would use wildcards to search though as I don't know what version you currently have installed and the names might be different. The variable part is the middle. This is consistent part for all the files:

AvidAV*Codec.component

(ie, the "1x" has many variables between all the files)

You can only do a wildcard search in Spotlight as a raw query in the advanced Spotlight fields (not just the normal Spotlight magnifying glass area) so you might have to look that up if you haven't done one before.
